Previous offenders of this have been “how about you try not worrying?” and “you can make those chicken bones into stock, you know!” To borrow a phrase from nineties mall teens everywhere: er, hello? If I had the kind of lifestyle that allowed me to not-worry while stockpiling animal carcasses, I wouldn’t be asking you for advice on how to live.
The latest one-simple-yet-actually-impossible-tip is Ariana Huffington’s suggestion that we just sleep our worries away. Huffington’s new book The Sleep Revolution promises to transform your life “one night at a time”.
“Only by renewing our relationship with sleep can we take back control of our lives,” says Huffington’s website. “The new golden age of sleep science that is revealing the vital role sleep plays in our every waking moment and every aspect of our health.”
